At qasab, we keep this simple: we collect the minimum we need to make the product work for you, we don't sell your data, and we tell you exactly what happens to it. If anything below isn't clear, email help@mkbuilds.dev.
1. Who we are
qasab ("we," "us," or "our") is operated by MK Builds LLC. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you use the qasab mobile app, website, and related services.
2. Information we collect
Information you give us
- Account info — your email address, and (if you sign in with a provider) your name and profile photo.
- Waitlist info — your email address and the source of your signup.
- Content you save — links and metadata for the TikTok, Reels, and other videos you save to qasab, plus any notes, tags, or preferences you add.
- Profile preferences — your niche, content style, and posting frequency, used to personalize the ideas qasab generates.
Information we generate
- Transcripts — text transcripts of videos you save, generated automatically.
- Content ideas — AI-generated content suggestions based on your saves and style.
Information from a connected Instagram account
If you choose to connect an Instagram Business or Creator account, we read the following through Instagram's official API, with your permission and only after you approve it on Instagram: your profile (username, name, account type, profile picture, and follower and following counts), your recent posts (captions, media, links, and when they were posted), and the performance metrics Instagram reports for those posts (reach, views, likes, comments, saves, shares, follows, profile visits, and watch time). We use this only to show you how your own posts perform and to compare what you post with what you save. qasab never posts, comments, messages, or changes anything on your account, and it does not read your direct messages.
Information we collect automatically
- Usage data — anonymous, aggregated metrics like which features you use and how often, to help us improve the app.
- Device data — device model, operating system version, app version, and crash logs.
3. How we use your information
We use the data we collect to:
- Operate, maintain, and improve the Service.
- Transcribe videos you save and generate personalized ideas.
- Communicate with you about the product (waitlist updates, beta access, important changes).
- Detect, prevent, and respond to fraud or abuse.
- Comply with legal obligations.
We do not use your content to train third-party AI models, and we do not sell your data to advertisers or data brokers.
4. Third parties we share with
We share data only with service providers who help us run qasab, and only the data they need to do their job:
- Neon — Postgres database hosting for your account and saved content.
- Resend — sending transactional and product emails (e.g. waitlist confirmation, beta invites).
- Better Auth — authentication and session management.
- Speech-to-text providers — transcribing the videos you save. Audio is processed and not retained by the provider beyond what's required to deliver the transcript.
- AI providers — generating personalized content ideas. Inputs are not used to train the provider's models.
- Vercel — hosting the website and app backend.
- Meta Platforms (Instagram) — if you connect an Instagram account, you sign in on Instagram's own site and Meta provides the profile, post, and performance data described above under Meta's terms. We store the access token encrypted and use it only to read that data.
We may also disclose data when required by law, to enforce our Terms, or to protect the rights and safety of qasab and its users.
5. Data retention
We keep your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we're legally required to retain it (for example, for tax or fraud records). Anonymized usage analytics may be retained indefinitely.
Instagram data — the access token, imported posts, and performance metrics from a connected Instagram account are kept until you disconnect the account in the app (Profile → Your Instagram → Disconnect), remove qasab under Instagram's Apps and websites settings, or delete your qasab account. Any of these deletes the token, the imported posts, and their metrics immediately. We refresh performance metrics at most once a day and keep only the latest reading; we do not build a history of your metrics.
6. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Delete your account and personal data.
- Export your data in a portable format.
- Object to or restrict certain types of processing.
- Withdraw consent at any time (where processing is consent-based).
To exercise any of these rights, email help@mkbuilds.dev. We'll respond within 30 days.
7. Children's privacy
qasab is not directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has provided us their data, please contact us and we'll delete it.
8. Security
We use industry-standard security practices to protect your data, including encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest, scoped access controls, and regular review of our infrastructure. No system is 100% secure, but we take this seriously and notify affected users promptly if a breach occurs.
9. International data transfers
Our service providers may process data in countries other than yours. We ensure that appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses) are in place for cross-border transfers.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll notify you via email or in-app notification. Continued use of qasab after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
